MALE BONDING, Year’s Not Long (from forthcoming LP Nothing Hurts, May 11, 2010)
This British noise-pop band sounds like it’s running away from something with this tune, as well as their entire debut album, Nothing Hurts (out on Subpop on May 11, available for streaming this week here). The crazy drum beats slash through this track and translate directly into high energy that in turn propels the melody forward with sense of urgency and unrest. This is quite a full sound for this trio of drums, bass and guitar.
